LAST POST part two

Ok so after Baba died Amir gets this phone call from an old friend of Baba (and he was friends with him too) anyway the old friend was dying and wanted Amir to come visit him he stilled lived in i forgot Afghanistan. anyway Amir went to visit him and he asked about Hassan. Hassan had been killed by the Taliban and apparently he had a son. They took the son with them. The old man asked Amir to go get the son and return the son to him where he would have a good life. When Amir meets with the Taliban men to ask for the son, he meets Assef the old neighborhood bully. He is now a leader of the Taliban. They get in a fight like a physical fight and the boy helps Amir win but using a sling shot and he shots out one of Assef eyes. they escape and then i stopped reading! well this book is really good and i recommend it to everyone!!!!!

LAST POST!

My last post was intense i know but it gets even more intense and i haven't finish the book so I'll give you a brief over view but I'm tired and want to go to bed. OK so after Hassan and Alli leave the house, Baba and Amir leave the country. i didn't really understand this part but the Russians came in and tried to do something war like blah blah blah (like i said i didn't know what was going on) and i kept reading and it was like America is cool. so anyway no Baba and Amir live in America and Amir is going to school while Baba works at a gas station. They also go to this flee market thing on Sundays and there they sell things they bought at garage sales and sell them for higher prices. at the Flee market Amir meet this women. Later Amir and her get married and it was a big deal he goes into information about the engagement and the wedding and so on. During this Baba found out that he had cancer. He didn't want to treat it so he just lived with it. One night he died peacefully.
so my last post was about how Amir and Hassan would run kites. Well its winter and the kite running tournament had begin. they had made it to the final ten...final five and then finally they and someone else were the last two. Amir did some kite strategy thing and won the tournament; just like his dad had said. Hassan took the kite and ran a victory lap while people congratulated Amir. after that Amir couldn't find Hassan anywhere and when he asked street vendor about Hassan the vendor said that he had been chased by some kids down towards some alleys. Amir went searching and finally found him cornered by the neighborhood bully, Assef and his friends. Amir just watched as they bullies him, they asked for the kite and when Hassan said no he got raped by Assef. This caused many hardships on Hassan and Amirs relationship because Amir felt bab that he had never stepped in and tried to help him. Eventually it became to much for Amir to bare so he step Hassan and his father Alli up. He put some of his new birthday presents in a wheelbarrow and put it in their hut. Amir then told Baba that they stole it. because of that Hassan and Alli left their house and never returned, but it was Alli who chose to leave even thought Baba said that he forgave them. The end I'll continue later....

random

Hello again OK I'm going to talk about Amir and his father Baba's relationship. It is like the worst relationship ever!i really cant understand why he still feels like he needs to prove himself to his father if it was me i probable wouldn't talk to him anymore of at lest completely give up on trying to show him that he is worthy of something. Baba is always putting him down and not giving him the time of the day and stuff like that but at the same time is is somewhat kind in the matter that it seems like he will but anything for Amir. the only thing wrong with that is that whatever he gives Amir he also gives Hassan so i mean that's great for hassan but that would be like your friends mom loving you that same amount that she would love her own kid. Its just not really that natural if you think about it. Their relationship is so weird! i cant get over it and i cant imagine living it. bye

Running the 12

in chapter six Amir talks about kite fighting. It is winter so its kite fighting time. apparently Hassan is very good at chasing down kites but I'll explain what the sport is. So you get a kite and a ton of other people have them two and you try and break the other peoples strings. Once a string has broken the people whose kite it is has to try to catch it. but i guess that's really hard because i mean you have to chase it down and the wind is blowing and so on and so forth. Any way that's all the chapter is about and one more thing apparently Amirs dad thinks that he could win and so Amir has his mind set that he will win because he wants to show his dad that he can do something right anyway that's all.

ch FIVE

Well that craziness from last time was gun shots. It happened in the middle of the night. Apparently the king was shot by his cousin. The gunshots happened all night and during it Baba wasn't there but Ali was. It explained how Ali comforted Hassan and then later the next morning when Ali came home it explained how Ali comforted both the boys. I think there will be a huge conflict between Amir and his father Ali because right when Ali gets home that morning he tells us that he was thankful the fight broke out because then he got affection from his father. Anyway, the king was shot that night and the monarchy was replaced with a republic. And then later at the end of the chapter it was Hassan birthday and Ali got him plastic surgery for his birthday because he had something wrong with his lip. It said that the surgery went fine and there was a very little scare, but something made Hassan stop smiling which is weird because he always smiled. And that is the whole Chapter

ch FOUR

In the beginning of this chapter Amir just talks about some back ground info on his country. He also tells about his daily activities. He tells us that when he wakes up all he has to do is brush his teeth, wash his face, eat and then put on the clothes that are set out for him. He explains that when he finally wakes up Hassan is already up do his choirs, like washing the floors or something. Then as Amir gets ready for the day, Hassan helps him by picking up his room, making his breakfast and picking out and ironing his clothes. Then Amir goes to school and Hassan stays home and helps his father with other household choirs. Then when Amir gets back from school they go out into some Field and Amir read Hassan books because Hassan cant read. One night Amir writes his own story and reads it to his fathers friend because his father doesn't want to hear it. The story was very good so he reads it to Hassan, when Hassan has heard all of it he says it was very good. But then he points out a huge flaw in the story plot. For a minute Amir feels very stupid because Amir cant even read yet he just made his story sound awful and then something huge happened but i stopped reading. Later

26 thrus

Hello again, well a couple days ago was the MCA tests so i had some time to read my book. Chapter three mostly talked about Baba, Amirs father. It also gave some more background information that really isn't that important. Anyway, i can already tell that there is going to be a conflict between Amir and his father Baba. Amir was talking about how he looks up to his father and how his father is well known around the city and so forth. Amir is always trying to find time alone with his father because he is always so busy. He feels that he always needs to show off or look good for his father, because his father always finds a way to make him feel bad. In the very ending of chapter three Amir overhears his father talking to his friend. Baba is saying that Amir isn't a "normal" young boy and that he is not like him at all. I can tell that their relationship is very iffy! thats all for now...

MONDAY!

I haven't read any more of my book... because i was reading In the Time of the Butterflies. In the Time of the Butterflies is a descent book. this is the worst post ever... OK I'm adding to this horrible post. Mrs. West; don't get me wrong I like this idea of posting, this whole Internet thing is great. The one thing I don't like about it is that you need to have two post done every week. I mean that seems simple and it totally would be if all I had to do was talk like this for ten minutes, but I'm suppose to talk about my book and I don't have time to read this book right now. Don't get me wrong I have always read my book, but I read my book on my own time. I don't have time to read this book while I'm suppose to read another book while I'm suppose to do my other homework and sports and blah blah blah... This is a good assignment but I think it should be slightly modified to work with a students schedule because I mean hey it is fourth quarter book assignment, I'm suppose to have the whole quarter to read my book!

Wednesday ch 1+2

Well today is Wednesday and I read in class for a bit. I learned that the book is about a boy named Amir. His best friend, who is also his servant, is named Hassan. Amir's fathers name is Baba and Hassans fathers name is Ali. Both of their mother are not around; Amirs died during childbirth and Hassans left a week after he was born. There was also some political information in the first two chapters, although i didn't understand most of it. I think it was basically talking about why Ali is made fun of a lot, its because he is of a certain heritage. I also found out that the main conflict is going to happen during the winter of 1975. See the book is written like it is all a memory from the past. The book starts when he receives a phone call from Hassan who is asking him to come visit (Amir is living in the US at this time.) Then Amir has his flashback, which is what I explained above, it was all basic background information. Well that pretty much sums up what I've read so far so till i read more!
